Will Biden attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral? Know what the White House said

US President Joe Biden will attend the funeral of the late British Queen Elizabeth II. He has formally accepted the invitation in this regard. The White House said on Sunday that the Queen’s funeral will take place in London on September 19, with Biden joining First Lady Jill Biden.

Earlier, Biden recalled the message given by the late Queen to the Americans after the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001. Referring to the Queen’s message to Americans on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the US President said, “Grief is the price we pay to find love.”

The coffin of the late British Queen Elizabeth II was brought from Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire to her official residence Holyroodhouse Palace in Scotland on Sunday. During this, a crowd of thousands of people gathered on the way to join the last journey of the Queen.

In the words of Maharaja III, Elizabeth II’s eldest son, it was the end of the first leg of his mother’s ‘last great journey’ before her funeral in London on 19 September. The Queen’s coffin, which was brought from Balmoral Castle to Holyroodhouse Palace after a six-hour journey, will be kept in the Throne Room of the palace until Monday afternoon, where members of the Royal Family will pay tribute to her. The coffin was wrapped in the royal banner ‘Royal Standard of Scotland’ and a bouquet of flowers was placed on it.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at Balmoral Castle. She was 96 years old. The vehicle carrying the Queen’s coffin slowly moved towards Edinburgh in the presence of a heavy police force with a convoy of seven cars. During this, people standing on the way paid floral tributes to the late Queen. Elizabeth II’s daughter Princess Anne was present in the convoy.
