Why was no Bengali made a cabinet minister in eight years… Babul Supriyo roared on Modi government

On Wednesday, Babul Supriyo attacked the Modi government at the Center after taking oath as a cabinet minister in the West Bengal government. He said that in eight years, the Modi government did not make any Bengali a cabinet minister. Babul Supriyo has been a Union Minister in Modi Government 1.0. The Modi government did not find a place in the new term, after which he left the BJP and joined TMC in September 2021. He had won the Ballygunge constituency from TMC in April.

Babul Supriyo said, “My entire family was bewildered. It was a ‘betrayal’ to the Bengali people. Why can’t a Bengali be a cabinet minister in Delhi? I don’t need any acknowledgment. I have been elected twice from Asansol.”

Attacking the Modi government, Supriyo further said, “You have a ministry which is running for eight years. You have 18 MPs elected from Bengal. Why do you think Bengalis are so incompetent that you have from Bengal. Can’t be a full-time minister?”

Praises to Mamata Banerjee

Babul Supriyo said, “Didi has given me the responsibility. I touched his feet today. My second innings will be better than my first innings.” Significantly, Supriyo took oath as the cabinet minister of West Bengal along with eight others in Kolkata amid a massive reshuffle.
