Why did BJP become a ‘spectator’ in Uddhav vs Shinde’s show of strength? understand its meaning

This time Dussehra is very special for the politics of Maharashtra. Both the Shiv Sena camps tried to take full advantage of this opportunity. However, in the show of strength of Uddhav Thackeray vs Eknath Shinde, the largest party in the state looked like a spectator. We are talking about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP is the power partner in the state under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. But when Shinde and Uddhav tried to take full advantage of Dussehra, the BJP remained silent.

Shinde gave a big blow to Uddhav amid Dussehra rally, brother Jaidev Thackeray came in support of Eknath

The BJP is in power with the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde but it distanced itself from Shinde’s show of strength. The BJP did not go to the MMRDA ground in Bandra Kurla Complex to participate in Shinde’s show of strength. BJP sources said that Shinde Sena had not invited any BJP leader and no one was expected to leave.

The Indian Express quoted sources as saying, “Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is in Nagpur. He was to attend the annual RSS Vijayadashami festival.” Other BJP leaders were also busy with their Vijayadashami celebrations. According to the report, BJP leaders said that the Mumbai Dussehra rally is a tradition of Shiv Sena and it is purely a party function. This is not a government program or an election campaign rally. So BJP leaders will not participate in it.

Uddhav Thackeray lashed out at Shinde in Dussehra rally, said – Katappa will not be forgiven by the public, will only call a traitor a traitor

However, BJP leaders said that their moral support lies entirely with the Shinde Sena. BJP leaders said that in his personal capacity, Shinde could have helped the Sena if the BJP leader wanted. There was no restriction for them for this. Maharashtra party president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “Eknath Shinde is leading the real Shiv Sena and he is holding the Dussehra rally.”

Another, untold reason is that the BJP does not want to publicly delve into the internal differences of the Shiv Sena. Since the time of Eknath Shinde’s rebellion, BJP has been saying that it had no hand in this whole incident. And now, ahead of the crucial BMC elections, staying out of the fight between Uddhav and Shinde Sena may also work in BJP’s favour. Shiv Sena has been dominating the BMC for a long time. In such a situation, a divided Shiv Sena can work in favor of the BJP. Let us tell you that Shiv Sena broke ties with ally BJP after the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections over the post of Chief Minister.

Uddhav targets Shinde at Dussehra rally: Traitor’s stain will always be there

Earlier, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his supporters, saying the stain of ‘traitor’ on him (Shinde) will never be washed away. Addressing the annual Dussehra rally at the local iconic Shivaji Park ground, Thackeray hit out at Shinde, whose rebellion in June this year led to the fall of the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government in the state.

The former chief minister said, “As time changes, Ravan’s face also changes. Today, they are traitors (in the form of Ravana). When I was unwell and had surgery, I gave him (Shinde) the responsibility, but he conspired against me thinking that I (probably) would never be able to stand on my feet again.

Thackeray said he had formed a post-poll alliance with traditional opponents—the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party—to teach the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a lesson for breaking promises. “I swear by my parents that it was decided that BJP and Shiv Sena will share the chief minister’s post for two-and-a-half years,” Thackeray said.
