Kuljeet has also referred to Section 8(2) of the NDMC Act 1994 in the preamble, which says, “If for three consecutive months a member is absent from the meetings of the Council without permission, the Council may recommend to the Central Government that His seat be declared ‘vacant’.” According to the resolution, the Delhi Chief Minister, who is also a member of the NDMC and an MLA from New Delhi, abstained from the meetings from December 2021 to March and reportedly gave permission for the same.
