Weather Updates: Severe cold in Kashmir, fog havoc in North India; Fear of cyclone in these states

Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that there will be a drop in the minimum temperature in the coming days and the outbreak of cold will increase rapidly. However, the minimum temperature is not expected to drop much this week. According to the Meteorological Department, fog has started wreaking havoc in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Dense blanket of fog has started forming in these states, due to which traffic is getting affected.

Here, mild cold was recorded in the national capital Delhi this morning as well. The minimum temperature was recorded at 13 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to be 22 degree Celsius. The air quality in Delhi remained in the poor category even today and it was recorded above 400 in Pusa Road. Next week, fog havoc can be seen in many states including UP, Bihar.

IMD has told in the latest forecast that the center of the cyclone can be formed in the Andaman Sea this week i.e. by December 4. It can take a big form in the next 24 hours. Due to this, it may rain in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu including coastal areas on 5 December.

Srinagar recorded another coldest night of the season as the cold wave continued in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kashmir Valley. A Met spokesman said Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, which was 1.3 degrees Celsius below normal. Earlier on Tuesday also the coldest night was recorded in Srinagar.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry in the valley during the next 24 hours. According to meteorologists, similar weather is expected to prevail in the valley till December 7. Meanwhile, there is no chance of snowfall. According to the department, dense fog enveloped most parts of Srinagar including Dal Lake, Boulevard Road, Nihat, Shalimar and other parts today. Gulmarg, a popular tourist destination in the Valley, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees Celsius above normal.
