Virat Kohli’s bat finally got a century, waited for 1020 days

Team India’s great batsman Virat Kohli finally got a century off the bat. He waited 1020 days for his 70th to 71st international century. Virat Kohli’s last century with the bat came on 23 November 2019, when he managed to score a century in the Pink Ball Test match against Bangladesh. At the same time, Virat completed a century in 53 balls against Afghanistan with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes in the Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2022. During this his strikerate was 188.68, which is a big deal in itself.

Virat Kohli is the first player to score a century in T20 International cricket against Afghanistan. Before him, the highest score in T20I cricket against Afghanistan was that of Luke Wright, who scored an unbeaten 99. At the same time, now Virat Kohli has played an innings of 122 runs in 61 balls. Apart from this, he has also become the highest scorer for India in T20 International cricket.
