Uttarakhand: The doors of Badrinath temple will open today, preparations complete, Dham is decorated with flowers

For the summer, the doors of the Badrinath temple will be opened on Sunday at 6:15 in the Brahma Muhurta. For the next six months, devotees will be able to have darshan of Lord Badrinath in the temple. A large number of devotees have reached Badrinath to witness this holy occasion.

On Saturday, from the Yog Dhyana Badri temple of Pandukeshwar, Rawal (Chief Priest) of Badrinath Ishwar Prasad Namboodiri, Naib Rawal Sankaran Namboodiri, Dharmadhikari Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal and Vedapathi of Badrinath led by Acharya Brahmins, the doli of Lord Uddhav ji, and the throne of Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Tel Kalash Yatra (Gadu Ghada) reached Badrinath Dham in the afternoon. At the same time, Kuber ji’s doli reached Bamani village for night stay. Kuber ji’s doli will enter the sanctum sanctorum of Badrinath temple at 5 am on Sunday.

All the preparations have been completed to open the doors of Badrinath Dham. The Dham is decorated with marigold flowers. After two years, on the occasion of the opening of the doors, devotees will be able to have darshan of Lord Badrinath. There is a movement of pilgrims from place to place at the pilgrimage stops. About five and a half hundred vehicles of pilgrims have reached Badrinath. About 25 thousand pilgrims are expected to reach Badrinath on the first day to have darshan of the Akhand Jyoti.

Along with Badrinath, ancient monasteries and temples located in the Dham are decorated with orchids and marigold flowers. The travel arrangements have been chalked out by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. Temporary shops have also opened in Lambagad market, which was washed away in the disaster of 2013. There is a good crowd of pilgrims gathering here.

The country’s last tea stall in Mana has also opened for pilgrims and tourists. Villagers of local Bhotia tribe have opened shops of woolen clothes at the intersection of Mana. The work of painting the foot bridge over the Alaknanda in Badrinath and cleaning the temple complex from the Army helipad has been completed.
