Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has hit back at BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya’s statement giving priority to former Agniveer soldiers for the security of the BJP office. Rahul Gandhi, who did not hoist the tricolor for 52 years of independence, cannot be expected to respect the soldiers. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also questioned the silence of the Prime Minister on the issue of Agneepath.

What did Vijayvargiya say?

Speaking to the media at the BJP office in Indore, Vijayvargiya said that discipline and obedience are foremost in the training of the army, and both the qualities will be developed in the youth during service under the Agneepath scheme. He further said that if I have to keep security in this BJP office, then I will give priority to (East) Agniveer.

After creating a ruckus on his statement, Vijayvargiya clarified by tweeting, ‘Agniveer who came out of the Agneepath scheme will definitely be trained and committed to duty. After completing his service in the army, his excellence will be put to use in whatever field he goes. That is clearly what I meant.’
