The Congress party has suffered a major setback in Goa. Eight MLAs left the party and merged their factions with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camp. Now the Congress has only three MLAs left here. Meanwhile, Congress party leader Pawan Khera has called it ‘Operation muddy’ of BJP, taking recourse to a poem by Nida Fazli. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party has also taken a jibe at this.
Pawan Khera writes on Twitter, “Have heard that BJP has organized Operation muddy in Goa from Bharat Jodo Yatra.” Come on… Congress leaders further say, “Those who are unable to support this difficult journey of uniting India, fearing the threats of the BJP, go to the breakers, then also understand that India is watching.”
On leaving Congress, Michael Lobo said, ‘We have joined BJP to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.’ He has also given the slogan of ‘Quit Congress and join BJP’.
Let us tell you that Congress MLAs have joined the BJP amid the India Jodo Yatra of former National President of Congress Party Rahul Gandhi from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. This is a major setback for the country’s oldest party in the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly. The Congress had 11 MLAs in Goa. Now only three are left.
The BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party have got a chance to take a jibe at the Congress’s ache. BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya said, ‘Rahul Gandhi should focus on saving Congress. 8 Congress MLAs decided to leave the party when Rahul Gandhi is on the road. This shows how attached he is to the party. There are many states in the country where there is not even a single Congress MLA.
At the same time, Aam Aadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha tweeted, ‘Operation Lotus failed in Punjab and Delhi, but was successful in Goa. why did this happen? It happened because if you vote for Congress then you elect future BJP MLA. Congress is over. RIP’
