Team India: Why were six players made captain in the last eight months? Coach Rahul Dravid revealed

In the last one year, there have been six captains of the Indian team, including different formats. Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant have been captains in the last one year. Hardik Pandya will be the captain of Team India in the next T20 series against Ireland. Dhawan became the captain in July last year. At the same time, in the last eight months since the T20 World Cup, there have been six captains of Team India. After Rohit, Kohli, Rahul, Rahane and Pant, Hardik Pandya is the new entry in this list.

In such a situation, coach Rahul Dravid has said that working with different captains has been challenging. This is something that Dravid did not plan, but he is not sad about it either. Coach Dravid has said that with this new leaders are emerging for Team India.

Dravid said – It has been challenging. We have had six captains in the last eight months. When I started coaching, we had no such plan. However, with the number of matches we are playing, its importance increases. Dravid said that the time is such that such a decision may have to be accepted. He said- Right now it is the time of Corona, so I have had to work with a lot of people.

Dravid said- This experience has been very fun for me. Many players have had the opportunity to lead. We have had the opportunity to discover more leaders in the team and discover their potential. Dravid also expressed his disappointment over South Africa losing their Test and ODI series at home.

Dravid said- We have constantly tried to get better. We gave chances to many different players. The tour of South Africa in the last eight months was a bit disappointing in terms of Test cricket. Dravid is happy with the bowling talent that has emerged due to the IPL. He said- White ball cricket has been good for us. It reflects the character of the team.

Dravid said – We saw new fast bowlers emerging during the IPL, which was unbelievable. Especially some bowlers bowled at a good pace. These are really good signs for Indian cricket. The time ahead is going to be fun.
