Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman targeted the Congress party fiercely. He said that the Congress has links with left-wing extremist forces which are a threat to the unity of the country. Addressing the 52nd Annual Day celebrations of the Tamil weekly magazine, he said that the ruling BJP with its policies is bringing transformational change in the country and the economy is growing rapidly despite the impact of the Corona pandemic.

Hitting out at the Congress, Sitharaman said even those places where late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi used to step cautiously. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi goes and stands with ‘Left Extremist’ forces. These forces can destroy the unity of the country. He said that Congress is doing politics like a fool.
We need Congress Mukt Bharat
Continuing the scathing attack on Congress, Finance Minister Sitharaman said that Congress is indulging itself in mindless politics and we need a Congress-mukt Bharat. They (Congress) have committed mistakes, done corruption, 2G scam, and have also been involved in dynastic politics.

Sitaraman referred to his recent visit to the United States. He said that the way the digital economy has progressed in the country, many industrialists are surprised. During his visit to America, many industrialists inquired about digital payment solutions, national payment facility, bar code reading. We (BJP) are not bringing small changes.

I cannot forget the service provided by the bank employees. Regarding GST, Sitharaman said that the Center has paid the dues to the states for 2020 and 2021.
