Sushant Singh Rajput Drugs Case: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has sent Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Shovik to a special court in Mumbai in connection with the drugs case related to the death of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Charges have been filed against Chakraborty and others. For which the next hearing will be held on 12 July 2022. However, the court is yet to frame charges against Riya.

Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande said that on his part, the charges against all the accused were upheld as mentioned in the charge sheet filed before the court. The court has urged the court to frame charges of drug abuse against Riya and Shovik Chakraborty and purchase and payment of such substances for the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Atul Sarpande said that the court was supposed to frame charges against all the accused, but it could not be done because some of the accused have applied for discharge, he said, adding that the court has said that after the discharge petitions are decided. Charges will be framed only after that.

Let us inform that all the accused including Riya and Shovik appeared in the court on Wednesday. Special Judge VG Raghuvanshi, who heard matters related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, has fixed July 12 for next hearing in the matter. Significantly, Riya Chakraborty was arrested in this case in September 2020. He was granted bail by the Bombay High Court about a month after his arrest.
