A jawan was martyred in a sudden grenade blast in north Kashmir’s frontier district of Kupwara. According to official sources, the grenade exploded accidentally. The jawan was on sentry duty at Gonipora Gugtiyal Camp in Kupwara. The injured jawan was taken to the hospital, where he died. He has been identified as Bharat Yaduvanshi. Police has started action under section 174 CrPC.

BSF deactivates anti-tank landmine

The BSF found an anti-tank landmine near Basantar Dariya in the border village of Ramgarh in the district. Which was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad. According to defense sources, around 10 am on Friday morning, channels were being dug with JCB to divert the flow of water in Basantar river. Due to this, old anti-tank and anti-personal landmines are being recovered from Basantar river.

BSF got the tunnel on Wednesday too

which are being deactivated from time to time. BSF found an anti-tank landmine while cleaning the Basantar river. The BSF informed the 237 Engineer Regiment. On receiving the information, the Engineer Regiment took possession of the anti-tank landmine. disabled. It should be noted that on Wednesday also BSF got an anti-tank landmine from Basantar river. The border people heaved a sigh of relief after the BSF explained the reason for the blast in the area.
