Expansion
Russian forces rained rockets on Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv and surrounding areas on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. At least 15 people were killed and 16 were injured. It is being told that Russia’s intention behind this attack is to force the Ukrainian army to defend the city by withdrawing it from the main battlefield.
Normal life was getting back on track in Kharkiv, but the worst attack of the past few weeks has worsened the situation again. Last month, the Ukrainian army expelled Russian forces from here. Ukrainian officials say houses on the outskirts of the city have also been destroyed.
Ukrainian President’s adviser Oleksey Eretovich said in a video address that the Russian attacks were similar to those carried out on Mariupol. Their goal is to scare people. If he continues to do so, we will have to react. For this we have to bring the army to the cities.
Refinery was attacked by drone
In relation to the attack on Russia’s Novoshkhtinsk oil refinery, located just eight kilometers from the Donbass border in Ukraine, the news agency Tas said, the attack was carried out with a drone. The area is occupied by pro-Russian Alvatists.
