Before the Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir to prepare a blueprint for the future strategy, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has once taught the lesson of discipline to the party leaders. He has clearly said that the time has come to pay off the party’s debt. In such a situation, we all have to work with selflessness and discipline, because there is no magic wand to strengthen the party anew.
Sonia addressed the meeting of the Congress Working Committee on Monday to finalize the action plan on various subjects to be presented at the Chintan Shivir in Udaipur. He said that this camp should not be just a ritual. The reorganization of the party should be seen in this. He expressed hope that a reorganized organization should be started after the Chintan Shivir.
Sonia Gandhi said that we all have to work with discipline, a sense of collective purpose and determination. The party has always done good for all of us. Now the time has come to pay off the debt of the party. We need self-criticism on the party platform. But this criticism should not be for breaking confidence and courage.

Preparation to give more stake to new people in the organization
Congress is preparing for future challenges and change in strategy for the year 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party is considering giving more share to newcomers in the organization and giving more tickets to OBCs, SC/STs, minorities and women in the Assembly-Lok Sabha elections. In the Navsankalp Chintan Shivir to be held in Udaipur, the party will discuss all these topics and give its final shape.
Strengthening the organization was discussed the most in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) chaired by Congress President Sonia Gandhi. According to party sources, the committee which prepared the blueprint of the action plan regarding the organization has suggested a cooling period for the office bearers. For example, if a person remains in office for five years, then he should work as a worker without any post for three years. This will give more and more new people a chance to work.
50% share suggestion for OBC
A party leader said the committee, which prepared the action plan for social empowerment, has suggested giving 50 per cent share to OBCs in ticket distribution in the assembly and Lok Sabha. Along with this, the discussion on the country’s economy was also discussed in the meeting, connecting the youth with the party in the action plan of youth and employment.
Provision of Digital Membership: Surjewala
Talking to the media after the meeting, party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the party’s constitution has been amended regarding digital membership. Because, there was no provision for digital membership in the constitution. With this, it has also been decided to form a separate state organization in Ladakh. It was now part of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress. Referring to the Chintan Shivir, he said that a total of 422 leaders would participate in it. Fifty percent of the participants in the camp are below 40 years of age.
More emphasis on organization: Ramesh
Party leader Jairam Ramesh said that the Chintan Shivir is the beginning of a long journey for the Congress. Its first objective is the assembly elections to be held in 2022 and 2023 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. After three contemplation camps held so far, the party has gone through a phase of organizational change. This time too there will be changes. In Chintan Shivir, the most emphasis will be on organization. Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that we should focus more on strengthening ourselves at the grassroots level.
Suggestion of separate department for election
It was also suggested in the CWC that there should be a separate department within the party for elections. Senior leader Anand Sharma said that the CWC meeting should be held in different cities instead of Delhi, so that maximum people can be connected. There was also one opinion of the leaders in the meeting that we should raise the issues of the people more vigorously. Right now their issues are not being raised as vigorously.
