Preparing to give a big blow to Congress, the chairmanship of two important committees of Parliament may get out of hand

Two important committees of Parliament can be chaired by the Congress, which includes the Committee on Home Affairs and the Committee on Information Technology. Sources gave this information on Thursday. Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Committee on Information Technology is being withdrawn from Congress.

In a letter written on Wednesday, Chowdhury said he was surprised to learn from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi that the Congress has decided to withdraw the chair of the Standing Committee on Information Technology headed by party MP Shashi Tharoor. He alleged that this was contrary to the established tradition which was being followed continuously by the governments till now.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury protested

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “The government should understand that the principles of discussion and dialogue in important bodies like the Departmental Standing Committee and encouraging cooperation above party sentiment should be respected.” Questioning the motive behind this move, the Congress leader said that a similar stand is being adopted in the Rajya Sabha as well and in this regard, a reference is being made to the decreasing strength of the Congress in the Upper House.

Mallikarjun Kharge also protested
