Due to the construction of Ashram flyover, there was no complete relief from the jam, but there has been some reduction. At the same time, the drivers are worried due to the jam under the flyover from DND and Sarai Kale Khan. On the other hand, from March 12, a carriage-way of Chirag Delhi Flyover is going to be closed due to repair work, which will increase the jam in South Delhi.
The Ashram flyover was opened for vehicles on 6 March. With its opening, commuters coming from Lajpat Nagar to Noida have got some relief, but people are facing jam while climbing this flyover from both the directions. While coming from Lajpat Nagar, the vehicles get stuck in the jam at the red light below the ashram. This jam goes till the back and people climbing the Ashram flyover get stuck in the jam due to this.
Jam may increase on these routes
Similarly, while coming from the DND side, due to the vehicles going down, the vehicles going up are also getting stuck in the jam. On the other hand, one carriage-way (Nehru Place to Chirag Delhi) of Chirag Delhi flyover is going to be closed from March 12. The repair work on this carriageway will continue for 25 days. Due to its closure, the load of vehicles will increase on the routes like Kalkaji, Amar Colony, Saket, Malviya Nagar, Defense Colony, Moolchand, Hauz Khas, Aurobindo Marg etc. In such a situation, the drivers may have to face jam here after the Ashram bridge.
Opening of Janak Setu Carriage-way will provide relief
The ongoing repair work on a carriage-way of Janak Setu in West Delhi has been completed. Due to this, it can be opened for vehicles from Saturday. At present, the second carriage-way is open on which traffic is run in both the directions in the evening. Due to this, people going from South and New Delhi to West Delhi have to get stuck in jam. With the opening of this carriageway, the people here will get great relief.
