New Zealand team announced for T20I and ODI series against India, two giants dropped

A period of change has begun in New Zealand cricket. This is clearly visible in the team selected for the three-match T20I and ODI series played against India, where two veteran players of the team have been dropped. However, the captain of the team will remain Kane Williamson, who will be seen captaining the team in both the upcoming series.

The New Zealand Cricket Board has selected a 13-man squad for the three-match T20 International series starting on November 19 and the one-day series to be played after that, but it will include opener Martin Guptill and fast bowler Trent Boult. Haven’t found a place. It is expected that they may not get the chance in future.

The New Zealand team has opted to use promising Finn Allen ahead of Guptill at the top of the order in recent times and the 23-year-old right-handed batsman has once again got priority for the series against India. At the same time, Trent Boult has already turned his back on the annual contract and will now spend time at home and play foreign leagues.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said it was a difficult decision to drop Boult and Guptill, but said the door was still open for the pair to return to the international stage. “When Trent opted out of his NZC contract in August, we indicated that priority would be given to players who have central or domestic contracts, and that has happened here,” he added.
