Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heera Ba distributed national flags to children at her Gandhinagar residence on Saturday and participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tricolor’ campaign. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the three-day ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to commemorate 75 years of independence by hoisting a giant tricolor on a hundred feet high flag pillar at the Children’s University in Gandhinagar.
According to a government statement, as part of this campaign, Hira Ba presented the national flag to the children at her residence and hoisted the tricolor with them. Hira Ba lives with Pankaj Modi, younger brother of Prime Minister Modi.

Earlier in the day BJP state unit chief CR Patil attended a seven-km long rally at Vijapur in Mehsana district. Many party leaders, MLAs and former MLAs were present with him. In Vadodara, BJP MP Ranjan Bhatt along with local MLAs took out ‘Tiranga Yatra’. Similar events were also held in other cities and towns of the state.
