Mohali Blast: After Punjab blast, Haryana will now form Anti-Terrorist Squad, will have security audit of police offices and government buildings

In view of the increasing terrorist activities in Punjab, the Haryana government will set up an anti-terrorist squad. In this, DIG and SP rank officers will be appointed. Security audit of all police offices and government buildings will be done. The activities of terrorist and anti-social elements in the state will be investigated. The sale of fake SIM cards and pre-activated SIMs will be banned.

These decisions were taken in a meeting on security of the officials of the Home and Police Department held here under the chairmanship of Home Minister Anil Vij. Vij told the police officers that recently the headquarters of Intelligence Department in Mohali was attacked with rocket launchers. In view of this, increase the vigilance regarding the security in Haryana. After investigating the sleeper cells of terrorists, etc., attention will have to be paid to their functioning. Take strong steps to destroy their network. Get to the core of the anti-national video messages being spread on social media.

Vij said that night vision CCTV cameras should be installed especially in congested areas where crime and other incidents can be carried out. Take the cooperation of various social organizations and institutions. The work of fixing and installing CCTV cameras should be completed soon in order to keep the security of government offices and buildings all over Haryana. A campaign should be launched to strengthen the investigation and inspection of tenants so that if any unknown and anti-social person is living in someone’s house by giving another name or reason, then they can be caught.

VIP security will be beefed up

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Rajiv Arora said that the security of VIPs would also be kept tight. There will be strict vigil in bus stands, railway stations, malls, cinema halls and crowded areas. Investigation and monitoring will be increased through the SHO of the concerned area at the places like hospitals, hotels, dharamshalas etc. Metal detector testing will be further strengthened by increasing the blockade and inspection at particular places. The officers collect the information of all the distributors, retailers providing mobile services in their respective jurisdictions and districts and make their directories.

Will make people aware about unclaimed and unknown things: Agarwal

Haryana Director General of Police PK Aggarwal said that people will be made aware about unclaimed and unknown things. A campaign will be launched for this. Special emphasis will be laid on checking of buses and trains coming from different states. Border meetings will be held with the police officers of the border states. Intelligence information will be shared.
