Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar again took a jibe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, asking if “there is any medicine to restore the dignity of Parliament?” Without naming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said that some people allege that the mike is switched off in the Parliament of the world’s largest democracy, nothing can be more untrue than this.

Addressing the Ayurveda Mahakumbh at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Vice President Dhankhar said, “We cannot see the temples of democracy being disrespected like this. The dignity of the temple of democracy cannot be allowed to be lowered. Not only are we the largest democracy, we are also the mother of democracy. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said in London that the working mikes in the Lok Sabha often go off when the opposition is speaking.

The Vice President told Balakrishna, managing director of Patanjali, an associate of yoga guru Ramdev, “As the chairman of the Rajya Sabha, I want to say one thing that you prepare such a medicine that restores the dignity of Parliament.” Dhankhar said, “Conduct in Parliament and Assemblies should be exemplary. There should be no disturbances.”

Today, being the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, I am compelled to say that the mike does not stop in the Parliament of India. Yes there was a time, there was a dark chapter, it was the time of emergency.

The Vice President said, ‘I have seen during my two foreign visits that when I introduce myself, people look at me with respect, this is the strength of today’s India. Still some people are defaming India abroad. Our history is thousands of years old, we are a great nation, our people are great.

No one showed the posters – Dhankhar

Emphasizing the importance of democratic values, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Saturday that it cannot be allowed to lower the dignity of the temple of democracy. He said, ‘Our Constituent Assembly debated many complex and divisive issues for three years, resolved them. But in three long years, there was no disruption, no one came before the Speaker’s rostrum, no one showed the posters. Our conduct today is opposite to that.

The Vice President called for creating an environment where the behavior of the members of the temples of democracy like Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, Vidhansabha should be exemplary. He said, ‘Create an environment, the conduct in Parliament and Assemblies should be exemplary. There should not be any disturbance there. But how will this happen – for this all of you will have to start a mass movement. Those people who disrespect the achievements of this great country have to be made accountable.

Ballads in praise of Yogi

Praising UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Vice President said, ‘Did the people of Uttar Pradesh ever think that law and order would be restored? But it happened. People had said about the Chief Minister that let’s see how long his law and order will last, but it has lasted. Addressing the program, Governor Anandi Ben Patel said that the Ministry of AYUSH is doing excellent work under the leadership of Narendra Modi. He said that this Mahasammelan is a matter of pride for the entire western Uttar Pradesh. The Governor said that India is the original place of Ayurveda.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Meerut is the land of India’s history, the land of Mahabharata. He said that Hastinapur had created history by laying the foundation of Mahabharata, Dharma, Karma, Kama, Moksha which are related to it, are in this book. He said that the traditional system of medicine has taken a giant leap in the world within nine years, the credit of which goes to the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi.
