MCD riding a bulldozer: Anti-encroachment action started in Dwarka, corporation's team did not reach many areas

Bulldozers will run against encroachment in all the three municipal corporation areas of Delhi on Wednesday. It includes many areas including Najafgarh. Let us inform that the corporation is running an anti-encroachment campaign from May 4 to May 13, under which bulldozers have already run in many areas of Delhi. Most of them the corporation had to face opposition in Shaheen Bagh.

Bulldozers were run in Mangolpuri and Newfriends Colony on Tuesday

North Delhi Municipal Corporation took major action in Mangolpuri. About 50 shops and platforms built illegally were demolished here. Here the corporation also faced opposition from the local people. South Delhi Municipal Corporation took action against encroachment in New Friends Colony, Basant Kunj and Raghuveer Nagar. Bulldozers demolished many illegal constructions and uprooted a green tree in New Friends Colony. Local MLA Amanatullah has given a complaint to the Delhi Police for uprooting the green tree. On the other hand, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation removed the illegal construction spread on the roads in Nand Nagri area.

Action against encroachment was started in Mangolpuri Y block from 10 am. In this action that lasted for about two hours, 50 shops, which were built illegally for 40 years, were broken. During this, a large number of Delhi Police personnel and paramilitary forces were deployed on the spot. Meanwhile, the security system was monitored by drones in the entire area.

In the morning, when the corporation team reached Mangolpuri for action, MLA Mukesh Ahlawat also reached here to help the local people. Here too, a situation similar to Shaheen Bagh was being created. Meanwhile, the MLA also interacted with the employees of the corporation. He said that when people themselves are engaged in removing encroachments, then what was the need to operate bulldozers.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police managed to convince them and send them back. The bulldozer of the corporation continued in the area. Some people protested against the demolition of their shops. Many women were also seen crying. People said that they are poor people, they take care of their family by selling fruits and vegetables. When his shops were to be demolished, why was he not stopped earlier when he was building shops here. Action was taken mostly on the raw-pucca shops made to sell vegetables here. Many of these shops were made of concrete.

After Shaheen Bagh, bulldozers reached New Friends Colony, uprooted trees

After the failure in Shaheen Bagh, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s bulldozer reached New Friend’s Colony on Tuesday. Encroachment was removed in the residential colonies here. During this, about six structures built in front of the houses were demolished by the bulldozers. At the same time, illegal hoardings were also removed. During this, even the tree in front of a house was not spared by the corporation workers. The green tree was uprooted by the bulldozer in one go. Even after this the action continued.

On the other hand, MLA Amanatullah along with the local residents also opposed the breaking of the green tree. The MLA has given a complaint to the local police station in this regard. In this, Delhi BJP state president Adesh Gupta and South Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Mukesh Suryan have been held responsible for felling the tree. The MLA has demanded the police to register a case against both the leaders.

Three km road encroachment free in Vasant Kunj

Illegal encroachments were removed from D-1, D-2 Market, Church Road, Masoodpur Road and adjoining areas of Vasant Kunj. During the operation, about three kilometer long road was made encroachment free and 49 items were confiscated.

About one kilometer of encroachment-free road

An anti-encroachment drive was also launched in Raghuveer Nagar in the western region and illegal permanent and temporary structures were removed from the government land. Under this action, about one kilometer area was made encroachment free and 11 items and one vehicle were confiscated.
