After the photo went viral on social media, based on the complaint of Amit Gaur, a security supervisor of Lilavati Hospital, Bandra police have registered a case against an unidentified person under sections 448 and 336 of IPC. The hospital has handed over the CCTV footage to the police for investigation.

Photos taken on the night of May 6 at around 10 pm

According to the complainant, the alleged incident took place around 10 pm on May 6 when Navneet Rana was sent to the room for MRI scan of the Radiology Department. She said that her husband and MLA Ravi Rana, her security guard and an unidentified person had accompanied her to the MRI division.

The complainant said that it is against the rules to carry any kind of electronic material or metal in the MRI room. Apart from this, a board with no videography, no photography was put up outside the room. Despite this, the unknown person clicked the pictures of him lying on the MRI machine and put it on social media.

Shivsena raised questions

After the photo went viral, former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and Shiv Sena MLC Manisha Kayande asked the Lilavati Hospital management questions on how Navneet Rana’s pictures could be shot in the MRI room. After this the hospital has registered a case against unknown.

Manisha Kayande has said that it looked like a C grade film was playing in the hospital. Along with this, he also accused the hospital of ignoring the rules. At the same time, Kayande had spoken to Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil to raise the issue that if he is in his private room of the hospital and takes photos, he has no objection to us, but taking photos in this way in an MRI center is fatal.

Investigation how the pictures were leaked

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Wednesday that clicking MRI room pictures is against the rules. He further told that it is not good to make pictures viral and politicised. We will investigate and see who clicked the picture and how it went viral.
