Kerala and Tamil Nadu did wonders during the Corona period, Delhi’s bad condition in health index;  full report

The world has recently faced the corona pandemic. The health system was overwhelmed due to the wildly increased cases. Meanwhile, a health index of NITI Aayog has come out for the year 2020-21. According to a report in Indian Express, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana have topped it. These states have performed exceptionally well during this period. On the other hand, Tripura has been the best performer among the smaller states. Delhi is in the worst position in the list of Union Territories.

Let us tell you that NITI Aayog has released this index in collaboration with the Union Health Ministry and the World Bank. A total of 24 parameters were taken into consideration while preparing it.

Report may be released soon

The Indian Express has said in its report that the 2020-21 Health Index Report was to be released by December 2022. Although it has not been made public yet. It is believed that NITI Aayog has shared this report with the Ministry of Health based on the rank of states and union territories. A NITI Aayog official said the report would be released at an appropriate time.

Kerala and Tamilmadu on top

Among the 19 large states of the country, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana are the top performing states. Whereas, Bihar got 19th, Uttar Pradesh 18th and Madhya Pradesh 17th. Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Odisha have improved their performance as compared to 2019-20.

Delhi’s worst performance

Tripura leads among the eight smaller states. It is followed by Sikkim and Goa. Among the smaller states, Arunachal Pradesh is sixth, Nagaland seventh and Manipur eighth. Lakshadweep has performed best among the eight Union Territories. On the other hand, the place of Delhi is the lowest.

Report of 2019-29

Let us tell you that in the report of 2019-20, Kerala and Tamil Nadu performed brilliantly. The situation in Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Assam had also improved. Among the smaller states, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim did well. Among the Union Territories, Daman and Diu were on top, apart from Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands were at the last position.
