Siddhesh Kamble alias Mahakal, an alleged member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, told investigators that Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar’s name was on the list of people from whom the gang wanted to extort money. A police officer gave this information on Saturday. However, a senior official said that these claims are yet to be confirmed. Kamble is a close associate of Santosh Jadhav who is a suspected shooter in the (Jadhav) Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case and is well aware of the conspiracy to murder.
Kamble is in the custody of the district’s rural police in a case already registered in Pune. He has been questioned by teams of the Special Cell of Delhi Police, Punjab Police and Mumbai Police Crime Branch in connection with the Moosewala murder case and the threat letter received earlier this month to actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan.
