Jammu and Kashmir: One hybrid terrorist and three OGWs arrested in the Valley, arms recovered


A hybrid terrorist and three terrorist aides (OGWs) have been arrested in two separate operations in North Kashmir’s Baramulla and Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Weapons and explosives have also been recovered from them. Police have started investigation by registering two separate cases.


On receiving information about the presence of terrorists, the security forces had put up a naka in Baramulla. During the investigation, two suspicious persons were seen. Seeing the security forces, they tried to run away, but both were caught. They have been identified as Ashiq Hussain Lone resident of Haider Mohalla Ushkara Baramulla and Uzair Amin Gani resident of Kanthbagh Baramulla.

Incriminating material and explosives including one pistol, one magazine, eight cartridges, two hand grenades and two UBGL grenades were recovered from their possession. Preliminary investigation revealed that both were linked to Lashkar. These weapons were obtained from foreign terrorists with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities in Baramulla and its adjoining areas.

One of them was working as a hybrid terrorist and one as a terrorist helper. At the same time, the Budgam Police has arrested two helpers of terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwa Tul Hind in Huru area.

They have been identified as Amir Manzoor resident of Dangarpora and Shahid Rasool Ganai resident of Putramulla Safapora Ganderbal. A hand grenade and 25 AK-47 cartridges were recovered from them along with incriminating material. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
