Iran will show eye to America with the help of Russia, tension will increase due to deal of fighter jets?

Defense cooperation between Iran and Russia is not new. To reduce the influence of America on the global stage, Iran is seen holding Russia’s hem from time to time. This time Iran has finalized the deal to buy Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets from Russia. It is being told that Russia is ready to give fighter jets to Iran. The Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets were recommended by Iranian aviation experts, so Iran finalized the contract to buy these fighter jets.

Iran considered Sukhoi 35 as the best

However, there was no immediate confirmation of the deal from Russia. It is being told that after the ban on Iran buying conventional weapons under UN Resolution 2231 expires in October 2020, Russia announced that it agreed to sell fighter jets to Iran. It is being told that the Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets are technically better for Iran. Iran has forged strong ties with Russia over the past year in various fields, including the military.

Iran also helped Russia

In the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, such things had come to the fore that Iran is helping Russia by giving it drones. Ukraine has accused Iran of supplying Shahd-136 ‘kamikaze’ drones to Russia. However, Iran has denied this allegation. US Pentagon spokesman John Kirby warned in December that the growing military cooperation between Iran and Russia was worrying. In the coming days, Russia may sell its fighter jets to Iran.

Iran has such fighter planes

Iran had ordered advanced jets from Russia, along with other military hardware including air defense systems, missile systems and helicopters, according to reports at the beginning of the year. Iran currently has mostly Russian MiG and Sukhoi fighter jets, which are Soviet-era aircraft. Also there are some Chinese aircraft including the F-7. Some American F-4 and F-5 fighter jets from before the 1979 Islamic Revolution are also part of its fleet.

The United States began reimposing sanctions on Iran in 2019, a year after the Iran nuclear deal brought relief. The 2015 deal is formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Under the plan, Iran was given relief from international sanctions in exchange for curbs on its suspected nuclear program.
