Defending champion Mumbai Indians is also considered a strong contender for the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). All the players are doing their best in fielding, batting and bowling. In such a situation, the team of Mumbai is looking very strong. In the point table too, Mumbai are above all the teams by winning their 11 matches, while Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are in second and third position due to their low net runs. Still, Mumbai may have difficulties as their captain Rohit Sharma was injured during the Super Over in the match against Kings XI Punjab.
Rohit Sharma’s poor attitude can have a big impact on the team of Mumbai Indians and that too when the tournament is very close to the playoffs. Every team is putting their strength to reach the playoffs. Rohit has not played in the last two matches of Mumbai Indians due to his injury. In one of these, Mumbai won, while in the other, they had to lose.
Mumbai won a historic win by ten wickets against CSK on Friday (23 October). However, in this match, Kieron Pollard was captaining Mumbai and batsman Saurabh Tiwary was named in the playing XI in place of Rohit Sharma. With this team, Mumbai also played their last match against Rajasthan Royals, where they lost by eight wickets.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag, known for his quick-witted and laughable jokes, took a dig at Rohit Sharma and Saurabh Tiwary’s fitness after the Mumbai Indians’ big win against Chennai Super Kings. Sehwag’s argument behind Saurabh’s selection in place of captain Rohit Sharma was that Rohit is a vada pav, while Saurabh can replace samosa pav and hence only a samosa pav can replace vada pav.
In the video uploaded to his official YouTube channel, Sehwag said, “Rohit was not playing. But what happened if Vada Pav was injured? Samosa Pav replaced him.” However, his statement on Rohit did not appeal to the fans of ‘Hitman’ and he put a class of Sehwag on social media. There is a lot of resentment among fans about the words being used by Sehwag, himself a professional cricketer.
Here’s how Virender Sehwag surrounded social media:
Act of shamelessness from @virendersehwag
Thank god @ ImRo45 didn’t wish him 4 days ago. LOL instead, should have made a joke on his batting. This was funny by any means.
BTW U were Rohit’s fav. in his childhood 😂 https://t.co/rzrRIfZ7LZ
