Indian Railways: Railway employee replaces Rs 500 note of passenger who came to buy ticket with Rs 20, video viral

A video of a railway employee duping a passenger during a cash transaction at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station has surfaced on social media. The clip was shared on Twitter by a user named Rail Whispers on Friday. According to the caption of the post, the incident happened on Tuesday.

In the video, a man sitting behind the ticket counter has been caught duping money. After taking a Rs 500 note, a railway employee is seen quietly changing that note into a Rs 20 note. It then tries to ask for more money from the passenger to issue a ticket for Rs 125. This video has gone viral on social media.

In the video, when a customer asks for a ticket to travel in the Superfast Gwalior train by giving a 500 note to the employee at the ticket counter, the employee immediately cleverly converts that note into a 20 rupee note. After this the total ticket cost is Rs 125 and he tries to ask for the rest of the money.

The video has gone viral on social media since being shared. The video has also come to the attention of Railway Service and Delhi Division, Northern Railway (DRM Delhi NR). Responding to the post, according to NDTV, the railway officials concerned said, “The employee has been identified and disciplinary action will be taken against him.”

Meanwhile, several internet users also reacted to the video in the comments section. One user wrote, “This has happened to me many times in Chennai. Union hooliganism of some railway employees gives them the courage to indulge in such crimes.”

Another wrote, “Dangerous, first time I’ve seen this, wondering, what if he hadn’t recorded the clip?” Another said that shame on such people who cheat and grab others’ hard earned money. Totally disgusting. Action is necessary.” This video has been viewed nearly two lakh times.
