The Delhi High Court on Wednesday lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Arvind Kejriwal for the uncontrolled Corona cases.
The High Court has said that the latest Siro survey report indicates that one in four people in Delhi are infected with Kovid-19. Delhi is also overtaking Kerala and Maharashtra in cases of Kovid-19 infection. The High Court said, other states are imposing sanctions, but the Delhi government is relaxing all norms, including the conduct of public meetings and transport, vigilance is on hold.
The court expressed surprise that the infection in Delhi has increased and gone out of control, whether the government has any strategy to deal with it or not.
The High Court has directed the Delhi government to file a status report on the steps taken in the last two weeks to control the spread of Kovid-19 in the city.
On Thursday, the High Court took a dig at the Delhi government over the number of coronas infected in the capital. The High Court had said that the epidemic has completely come to dominate the government and Delhi is soon going to become Corona Capital. The High Court had said that the steps being taken by the government are completely failing.
Justices Heema Kohli and S.K. Prasad’s bench made this remark during the hearing on a petition filed by the Municipal Corporation Retired Employees Welfare Committee and others. The bench said that with the rapid increase in Corona cases, Delhi would soon become the capital of Corona. The bench said that many claims were made by the Delhi government that they are conducting the most investigations, but the number of cases is increasing rapidly. The bench said that the government will have to answer many questions.
