G-23 over in Congress? New picture emerges from Shashi Tharoor vs Mallikarjun Kharge contest for the post of President

Has the existence of the rebel group G-23 in Congress ended? This question has emerged very prominently in the midst of the election for the post of Congress President. One of the key reasons behind this question being raised is that the leaders of the G-23 faction came with Mallikarjun Kharge instead of Shashi Tharoor. Anand Sharma, known to be a part of G-23, BS Hooda and Manish Tewari accompanied him in the nomination of Mallikarjun Kharge. At the same time, Shashi Tharoor seems to be alone with the G-23’s demand for change in the Congress. He is clearly saying that those who want old Congress should go with Kharge and those who want change should come with me. But his old friends of G-23 are not seen with him.

G-23 had revolted

Let us tell you that two years ago the leaders of the G-23 faction wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi. In this letter, there was talk of radical change within the party. It was considered a kind of rebellion against the Gandhi family. Apart from Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kapil Sibal, this group included leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Anand Sharma and Prithviraj Chavan. Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Ali are no longer in the party. On Friday, at the time of nomination of Mallikarjun Kharge, Manish Tewari, Anand Sharma and Prithviraj Chavan appeared with him. Now the question is being raised on the existence of G-23 because the leaders of this faction are not supporting Shashi Tharoor, the second contender for the post of Congress President.

Mallikarjun Kharge, who is in the race for the post of Congress President, said – I am fighting the elections at the behest of the leaders
Tharoor alone?

Shashi Tharoor had said yesterday that Kharge has the support of big leaders of the party. At the same time, there is the voice of the party workers with him. On the other hand, today Tharoor once again said that the kind of change I can bring in the party, Kharge cannot bring. Earlier, when Mallikarjun Kharge filed his nomination, there were speculations that he was the official candidate of the party. This speculation was also fueled by Tharoor’s statement that Sonia Gandhi had said that the party would not field any official candidate. Now it is not hidden from anyone that Kharge has been close to the Gandhi family. In such a situation, if the leaders who were once involved in the G-23 faction are supporting Kharge, then it is surprising.

Kharge said this

Meanwhile, Kharge issued a statement on Sunday when asked about getting support from the leaders of the rebel group G-23. He said that such a group no longer exists. Kharge said that now all the leaders are fighting unitedly against BJP and RSS. This is the reason why other leaders including Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari are also supporting me.
