Former BJP councilor commits suicide with wife after poisoning 2 sons, wrote this in suicide note before death

Troubled by the incurable disease of his two sons, Sanjeev Mishra, a former BJP councilor in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha city, allegedly consumed sulfas along with his wife and two sons on Thursday evening, killing all four. . Sanjeev Mishra, a resident of Bunty Nagar area, was currently the vice president of BJP’s Vidisha Nagar Mandal and has also been a former councilor of the party.

BJP’s Vidisha Mandal President Surendra Singh Chauhan told that at around 6 pm on Thursday, Mishra had written a post on social media in which he had said, “May God not give this Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) disease even to the children of the enemy.” ‘

Seeing this post, when the acquaintance reached his house, he found Sanjeev Mishra (45), his wife Neelam Mishra (42) and both sons Anmol (13) and Sarthak (7) unconscious. After this all were admitted to the district hospital, where all four died.

Vidisha District Magistrate Umashankar Bhargava said that both the sons of Sanjeev Mishra had DMD, a genetic disease for which there is no cure. He said that a suicide note has also been found on the spot, in which Mishra has written that he is not able to save his children, so now he does not want to live. Bhargava said that Mishra, his wife and both the children died during treatment at the district hospital due to consuming sulfas.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sameer Yadav said that the police have registered a case in this regard and have started investigation.

It is noteworthy that DMD is a genetic and severe disease associated with muscle weakness that worsens over time. DMD mainly affects boys.
