A fire broke out in an electric scooter showroom in Telangana’s Secunderabad city on Monday midnight. Due to this fire and smoke reached the upper floors of the building. Due to this, 8 people died due to suffocation and burns. In this building was Hotel Ruby Pride, which accommodated 25 guests. All the people who died were from this hotel. Apart from this, some people were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, information has been received that the overcharging of the electric scooter could also be the reason for the accident. In such a situation, it is a warning incident not to leave any electronic device on charging for a long time. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anant said that the smoke from the fire below had reached the top through the stairs. The 23 rooms on the top 4 floors belonged to the hotel. The guests staying on the first and second floors died of suffocation. Anand said that it is also being investigated whether the overcharging of the electric scooter caused the accident. Deputy commissioner Chandana Deepti told Reuters: “We don’t know if the incident was caused by overcharging, and from there the entire building caught fire and smoke spread.” At present, this matter is being investigated.
Officials said the water fountains in the building were switched off and not working when the fire broke out. It is also being investigated why this happened. Telangana Home Minister Mohammad Mehboob Ali has expressed condolences over the death of the deceased. The state government has announced an assistance of Rs 3 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. Apart from this, it has been said that the help of Rs 2 lakh will be given by the central government. Expressing grief over the incident, PM Narendra Modi himself announced to provide help.
