In Maharashtra’s Nagpur, a woman has been accused of getting her father murdered. Nagpur Rural Police has arrested a 34-year-old woman in this case. It is alleged that he had given supari to contract killers to get his father murdered. According to reports, the father of the accused had assaulted his mother as she objected to his extramarital affair.
Dilip Rajeshwar Sontakke, 60, was killed by three masked assailants on May 17. This incident was carried out at his petrol pump in Bhiwapur near Nagpur-Nagbhid highway. He was pressurizing his wife to transfer the petrol station, farm and house in his name. Police said that his daughter Priya had hired the attackers for Rs 5 lakh.
‘Priya confesses her role in the murder’
Nagpur (rural) Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand said Priya had confessed to her role in the murder. He was produced in a local court on Wednesday and sent to police custody for 2 days. Anand said the three attackers, Sheikh Afroz alias Imran Hanif, Mohd Waseem Lal Mohd and Zubair Khan, were apprehended within hours of the murder. During interrogation, he told the police that Priya had given him a betel nut for this.
Why did Priya want to get her father killed?
On May 17, Rajesh was at the petrol pump with his employee Rajeshwar Nanhe. This place is about 75 km from Nagpur city. When Rajesh was counting the money, the three accused entered the station. He attacked both of them. Nanhe tries to save Rajesh but fails. Police said that Rajesh had been stabbed 15 times. The attackers also looted Rs 1.34 lakh in cash from the station. According to the police, Priya wanted to get her father killed because he had an extramarital affair with a woman in Nagpur. On opposing this, he used to torture his mother and other family members.
