Who will be involved in the conversation
Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Piyush Goyal will lead the government, while 40 leaders of the Kisan Union will represent the farmers in the talks. Earlier on December 30, there was a sixth round of talks between the farmers and the center where they agreed with some things.
Farmers’ warning to the government
So far, 6 rounds of negotiations have been held between the farmers and the government. Today’s talk can prove to be important in solving the problem. There are two main demands of farmers – the abolition of three new agricultural laws and the demand to make the minimum support price (MSP) legal. Farmers are firm on these demands. Farmers’ organizations have warned that if their demands are not met, thousands of farmers will proceed to the parade with their tractors in the capital to celebrate on 26 January.
