Delhi Weather: It will rain heavily in Delhi;  Hail will fall, Meteorological Department issued Orange Alert

Due to rain, clouds and hailstorm, the feeling of cold has returned in Delhi. It rained heavily in Palam and Ayanagar areas on Sunday. Due to this, the maximum temperature was recorded three degrees below normal. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Monday as well. This time in the capital Delhi and other parts of the country people had to face more than normal heat in February.

This month also more or less the situation remained the same, but now the weather has changed rapidly due to the rains due to the Western Disturbance. Most of the areas of Delhi were covered with thick clouds since Sunday morning. Light sunlight came out for some time in between. After this there was light drizzle. Palam and Ayanagar recorded moderate rainfall.

Hailstorm also occurred at some places like Palam and Chhatarpur. However, the hailstones were about the size of a pea and melted within no time. Delhi’s Safdarjung weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 28.0 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded one less than normal at 15.4 degree Celsius. The humidity level here ranged from 96 to 63 per cent.

Chances of increase in wind

The Meteorological Department estimates that this weather trend will continue on Monday. Light to moderate rain is expected in different parts of Delhi. During this, the wind speed is likely to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Hail can also happen with strong wind. On Monday, the maximum temperature is estimated to be 26 and the minimum temperature is 16 degree Celsius.
