Kavita of Chief Minister KCR’s daughter is not going to appear before the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi liquor scam case. It is reported that he has made preparations to deliver the documents to the investigating agency through his representatives. Earlier, ED has also interrogated MLC Kavita on March 11. The ED had summoned him for the third time.
There was also a setback from the Supreme Court
Kavita had approached the Supreme Court against the ED’s inquiry. However, on Wednesday, the court also did not give him any relief and refused to stay the interrogation. The counsel for the Bharat Rashtra Samiti MLC sought an urgent hearing on the matter, but the court fixed March 24 as the date of hearing.
The action of the Central Investigation Agency is going on regarding the alleged irregularities in the Delhi Liquor Policy. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has also been arrested in this case. Kavita’s former CA has also been arrested.
Preparation for demonstration in Delhi
BRS leaders had also mobilized in the capital Delhi for questioning Kavita and preparations were underway for a large-scale demonstration. Many big leaders of the party had reached Delhi to show solidarity. Here, KCR’s daughter is calling ED’s summons a political conspiracy. His party leaders are also targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party over the action.
Hyderabad-based liquor baron Arun Ramachandra Pillai and former CA Buchibabu Gorantla were also questioned a day earlier in the case. Investigators have found strings between Kavita and the two. During the investigation of the liquor scam, the mention of ‘South Group’ also came to the fore. It is being said that Kavita was a part of this group.
