Delhi: AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan not granted bail, sent to 4-day ACB custody by court

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday sent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan to four-day ACB custody. Amanatullah is accused of disturbing the property of Delhi Waqf Board. Now after four days only his bail will be heard.

Delhi ACB on Friday arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in a corruption case after an 8-hour interrogation. Amanatullah Khan is the chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. ACB is probing alleged irregularities in recruitment in Delhi Waqf Board.

The ACB on Friday raided the residence of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his close friends and recovered Rs 24 lakh in cash and two unlicensed arms.

Amanatullah Khan, an AAP MLA from Delhi’s Okhla assembly seat, was called for questioning at 12 noon on Friday in a case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act two years ago. The Delhi Anti Corruption Bureau had sent him a notice on Thursday for questioning.

Let us inform that, ACB had written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat requesting to remove Amanatullah Khan from the post of Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. The ACB had claimed in the letter that Khan had tried to influence the investigation by intimidating the witnesses in the case against him.
