The frightening speed of Corona is being seen in Delhi. In the last 24 hours, 214 new cases have been reported in Delhi. It is a matter of concern that a sharp jump has been registered in the positivity rate. It has reached 11.88 percent. However, it is a matter of relief that not a single death due to corona has been registered in the national capital in the last 24 hours. In the bulletin issued by the Delhi Health Department, it has been said that 1,811 swab samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Out of this, 214 samples were found to be Kovid-19. There are currently 671 active cases in Delhi. The positivity rate has increased in Delhi and 12 samples out of every 100 are being found positive.

On Sunday, 153 new cases of Kovid were registered in Delhi. It is worth noting that this spurt in Corona cases in Delhi is being seen amidst a sharp rise in H3N2 Influenza cases in the country. Delhi had seen a sharp decline in the number of new cases in the last few months. For the first time after the outbreak of the pandemic, no new cases were found in Delhi on January 16, but now once again the cases of Covid have started increasing.
The Health Department said that Delhi’s Kovid hospitals have 7,985 beds, of which 46 are occupied. At the same time 410 Kovid patients are in home isolation. There are 538 active cases in Delhi. Amid the rise in corona cases in Delhi, medical experts say that due to the new XBB.1.16 variant of the corona virus, a sharp increase in cases can be seen. However, doctors say that there is no need to panic. Experts have advised people to follow the Covid protocol and take booster doses of the vaccine. At the same time, people are also falling ill due to H3N2 virus.
