A case of stabbing and murder of an autorickshaw driver has come to light in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector-14 area. The police have arrested two people on charges of murder. One of the two arrested assailants was recently acquitted by the Supreme Court in the 2012 Chawla gangrape and murder case.
Giving information about this on Saturday, the police officer said that apart from Vinod, the other accused has been identified as Pawan. On January 26, 44-year-old Anar Singh, a resident of Munirka, was stabbed to death in Dwarka’s Sector-13. There were marks of knife attack on his neck.
Police said that interrogation of the accused revealed that after boarding the autorickshaw, they tried to rob the driver on reaching Dwarka and when the auto driver resisted, they stabbed him and fled.
According to a senior police officer, Vinod was recently released from jail. He was in jail for nearly 10 years in the Chhawla gangrape and murder case.
In 2012, the Supreme Court acquitted three men convicted in the gangrape and murder of a 19-year-old girl in Delhi’s Chhawla. The mutilated body of the girl was found three days after the abduction. The woman worked in the Cyber City area of Gurugram and was a resident of Uttarakhand.
