The doors of the eleventh Jyotirlinga Lord Shri Kedarnath Dham will be opened for pilgrims on May 6 by law. The doors of the temple will be opened at 06:15 am with Vedic chanting while the last of the four pilgrimages, Badrinath Dham, will be opened for pilgrims on May 8.
According to tradition, the Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath has reached Kedarnath. It left for Kedarnath from Omkareshwar Temple, the winter abode of Shri Kedarnath on May 2 and halted at several stops including Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi, Shri Gaurimai Temple, Phata and Gaurikund before reaching Kedarnath Dham. Kedarnath temple is decorated with flowers.
Despite rain and snowfall on May 4, all the preparations were completed in the temple. After two years, this time the Chardham Yatra is expected to see a record number of pilgrims. More than 1,90,000 pilgrims have registered themselves till May 31 to visit Kedarnath. Whereas advance booking has been done for Kedarnath Heli service till June 5.
12 thousand registrations for today
12 thousand pilgrims have registered to visit Kedarnath on the first day. Pilgrims will be able to have darshan only after registration verification. So far the registration process is going on smoothly. All arrangements have been made on the travel route. Special attention is being paid to ensure that the pilgrims do not face any kind of inconvenience during the Yatra.
All the preparations have been completed by the government for the successful conduct of Chardham Yatra. Today, after Kedarnath ji, the doors of Badrinath Dham will open on May 8, after which the Chardham Yatra will be fully operated as before. The Government of Uttarakhand is ready to serve the best of hospitality to the pilgrims.
