CBI reached the place where Sonali Phogat stayed in Goa before her death, searched the hotel for 10 hours

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team along with forensic experts visited Goa’s Leoni Grand Resort on Saturday to crack the mystery behind the death of BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat. Phogat had stayed in this hotel before her death. According to the information, the CBI officers probing the case stayed inside the resort for more than 10 hours and tried to collect evidence.

Let us tell you that on September 15, 2022, the CBI took over the investigation of Sonali Phogat’s death from the Goa Police. On Saturday, the CBI and a forensic team reached the resort located on Anjuna Beach in North Goa.

Earlier, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he would request Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hand over the Sonali Phogat case to the CBI. On September 12, the Home Ministry had recommended a CBI inquiry into the death of Sonali Phogat. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court adjourned Curlies Restaurant’s plea against the NGT order till September 26 and extended its interim order against the demolition till the next date of hearing.

Curly’s restaurant was being demolished for violating CRZ norms, but the restaurant owners moved the Supreme Court challenging the demolition action.

Sonali Phogat was found dead in Goa last month. His family immediately demanded an inquiry into the matter. Goa Police registered a case of murder and arrested some of Phogat’s associates.

Sonali Phogat, who rose to fame with her Tiktok videos, contested the 2019 Haryana election as a BJP candidate but lost to the then Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi. She also joined the reality show Bigg Boss in 2020.
