Case filed against the girl who blackmailed Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, but there is a screw in the case

Police have registered a case of extortion against the woman arrested for threatening and blackmailing Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Allegedly the accused woman had sent 2 videos to Amrita Fadnavis threatening to make them viral and was demanding a ransom of Rs 10 crore from Amrita Fadnavis. However, the screw is still stuck in the case as it is being told that the accused woman did not make this video. The Mumbai Police is also looking for the person who made this video.

Earlier, Amruta Fadnavis had lodged an FIR against the alleged ‘designer’ for threatening and offering money to interfere in a criminal case. On February 20, an FIR was registered at Malabar Hill police station on the complaint of Amrita against the woman, identified as Aniksha, the police officer said.

Reacting to the matter, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said a proper inquiry would be conducted into the matter related to the attempt to bribe and blackmail his wife Amruta Fadnavis. Fadnavis said this after Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajit Pawar raised the issue. Pawar sought detailed information about the matter which had come up in the news. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the designer against whom the complaint has been lodged flaunted her political connections and said that she could land him in trouble if the cases against her absconding father were not withdrawn.

Deputy CM told the matter

Fadnavis said the designer was in touch with his wife for about one-and-a-half years and used to visit their house frequently. He said that Anil Jaisinghani’s daughter, who is facing 14 to 15 cases, is an educated girl. She first came in contact with Amrita in 2015-16 and gained her trust. He added, “In 2021, he approached Amrita again and asked her to wear clothes designed by him. She sought help, claiming that her father had been implicated in false cases. My wife said that he should give a memorandum, which will be sent to me.”

The Deputy Chief Minister told the House, “After the change of government, the designer spoke about his links with bookies. She claimed that she would share the information and after the raids were conducted by the authorities, she would get money from both the parties.” The Deputy Chief Minister said that the designer indicated that if the cases are not withdrawn, she may implicate him (Devendra Fadnavis).

Fadnavis said the woman claimed she had links with them, taking the names of police officers and politicians. He said that during the tenure of the previous police commissioner, an attempt was made to finish the cases. Fadnavis told the woman that if the cases were withdrawn, she and her father would speak in favor of Amrita and her husband.

Fadnavis said that during the previous government he always tried to implicate him. Thankfully nothing happened. He said that the level of politics has fallen. Fadnavis said that the matter would be probed. The woman’s father is still absconding, he said. Fadnavis said that after Amrita blocked the number on the phone, the designer tried to blackmail his wife by sending some audio and video recordings from unknown numbers. He said that the forensic audit of the recordings proved them to be false.

The deputy chief minister said that in one of the video clips, the designer is seen handing over “bags full of money” to the domestic helpers at Fadnavis residence. Fadnavis said the forensic audit has proved that the bag containing the money seen in one frame and the bag handed over to the domestic help shown in the other frame are different.
