Big relief from heat wave in all parts of the country, monsoon may reach northwest India from June 23 to 29

Many parts of the country battling the scorching heat are going to get a big relief in the coming week. In fact, according to the forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday, the southwest monsoon is likely to cover many parts of northwest India in the period from June 23 to 29. The forecast also indicates that no significant heatwave is likely over the country from June 16 to 29. In the next one week, the maximum temperature of Northwest India is likely to drop by two to four degrees.

Heat wave conditions eased in all parts of the country

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday that due to the advance of Southwest Monsoon towards Central and East India and a fresh Western Disturbance, the heat wave conditions have eased over all parts of the country. The department says that till June 29, the heat wave conditions are expected to remain mild. Northwest India was in the grip of heat wave from June 2, while Central India from June 10 due to hot and dry westerly winds.

According to the IMD, the effect of heat wave started in different parts of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, South-East Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra from June 3. However, even after the effect of heat wave subsided, it continued to dominate Delhi, South Haryana, South-East Uttar Pradesh and isolated parts of Western Himalayan region till June 15. The Meteorological Department said that the southwest monsoon is likely to reach the remaining parts of central India and many parts of northwest India between June 23 and June 29. There is a possibility of scattered to widespread rain in Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh between June 16 and 22. Easterly winds and Western Disturbances from Bay of Bengal are also likely to bring light or moderate rain over Northwest India for most of the next week from June 23 to 29.
