Pakistan Electricity Crisis: A big power crisis has arisen again in Pakistan. Many cities of the country, including Karachi, have been plunged into darkness due to the stoppage of the transmission line. Pakistani channel ARY News reported that several areas of Karachi witnessed severe power cuts as a high tension (HT) transmission cable tripped due to a technical fault.
The report claimed that almost 40 per cent of Karachi was plunged into complete darkness due to tripping of the High Tension (HT) transmission line. This resulted in tripping in many grid stations.
According to reports, there was a power failure in Karachi’s Chowringhee, Sadar, Lines Area, Defense Housing Authority (DHA), Punjab Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Korangi. However, no statement has yet been issued by K-Electric, the electricity supply company in Karachi.
Let us tell you that earlier in January also, due to frequency fluctuations in the national grid, there was a severe power crisis in Pakistan, due to which Karachi was plunged into darkness.
According to Imran Rana, a spokesman for K-Electric, the national grid experienced a loss of frequency, resulting in power outages in several cities across Pakistan, including Karachi. Rana assures that K-Electric’s network is safe and secure. He also mentioned that his teams are actively monitoring the situation and efforts are being made to restore power in the affected areas.
