A BCCI source from ANI said, ‘This player has a mind above body. We think he will be ready to play in the fourth Test after a three-day rest. If he is fit even 50 percent, he will play. We are keeping an eye on winning 2–1 in the series.
Ishant Sharma was not already a part of the Test series due to injury, while Mohammed Shami was out of the series due to injury during the first Test. During the second Test, Umesh Yadav was ruled out of the remaining two Tests due to injury and has returned home. Bumrah’s injury after Ravindra Jadeja and Hamuna Vihari during the third Test can greatly increase the tension of the team management.
In such a situation, playing Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan in the playing eleven in the Gabba Test seems a bit certain. India lost the Adelaide Test by eight wickets, followed by the Melbourne Test match by eight wickets. The Sydney Test match was a draw and the series is currently 1–1.
