After the incident of stone pelting on the convoy of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief JP Nadda, the West Bengal Police has said that all people are safe and nothing has happened to JP Nadda’s convoy. Police said that some people standing on the roadside suddenly threw some stones towards the vehicles behind in the convoy. On the other hand, the central government has asked the West Bengal government to respond to the flaws in the security of the BJP president.
A statement issued by the West Bengal Police said, “BJP National President JP Nadda has reached the venue safely at Diamond Harbor and South 24 Parganas. Nothing has happened to his convoy. At Debipur in Falta Police Station area of Diamond Harbor, some people standing on the roadside suddenly hurled stones at the vehicles behind the convoy. “Everyone is safe and the situation is peaceful.” The matter is being investigated as to what exactly happened. ”
The central government has summoned a report from the state government regarding serious security lapses during the visit of BJP President JP Nadda to West Bengal. The report has been sought by the Union Home Ministry from the West Bengal government when on Wednesday, BJP state unit president Dilip Ghosh wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah.
In his letter, Ghosh alleged that a crowd of more than 200 people was present in front of the BJP office in Kolkata with sticks and batons and showed black flags. He had also claimed that some protesters boarded cars and shouted slogans in front of the party office, but the police did not intervene to stop them.
Stones were thrown at BJP National President JP Nadda’s convoy in Diamond Harbor area while moving from Kolkata to South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. Sources in the BJP said that the car of the party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya was vandalized in the stone pelting incident. According to BJP sources, vehicles of media persons were also not spared.
West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said, “During our visit to Diamond Harbor, Trinamool Congress supporters blocked the way and threw stones at Nadda’s vehicle and other vehicles. It shows the true color of the Trinamool Congress. Later the police intervened and ensured that the convoy could pass through there. ”
