Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on Wednesday challenged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to argue that he cannot stop us from doing independent journalism. Arnab made this statement after his release from Taloja Jail in Rayagad district. Journalist Arnab Goswami was released from Taloja jail hours after he was granted interim bail from the Supreme Court. He was arrested on November 4 in a 2018 case for allegedly abetting an interior designer to commit suicide.
After the release, Arnab Goswami said, “My illegal arrest was made by a government that is not ready to understand that it cannot hold back the independent media. If Uddhav Thackeray has any problem with my journalism, he will interview me I should give them. I challenge them to argue with me on all the issues that I do not agree with them. “
