A blast took place on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track in Rajasthan on the night of 13 November. Superpower-90 explosives were used in this blast. The sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard in many villages around the track. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing this entire matter. During the investigation, it has been confirmed that a detonator named Superpower-90 was used for the blast. The investigation team has also recovered its packets from the spot.
Superpower-90 is said to be very sensitive explosive. It is gray in appearance and is putty-like. It is a packaged emulsion explosive. It is exploded by sticking it on the wall. It is waterproof i.e. it can be used even during rain. This is the reason why it is called a powerful and sensitive explosive.
It is used for demolishing old buildings and bridges. On 28 August 2022, Superpower-90 was also used to demolish the Twin Towers in Noida. Apart from demolishing old structures, it is also used for blasting for mining and for making roads or tunnels. With the help of this it becomes easy to break the strong construction.
This explosive transforms strong to strong construction into small pieces. Through this, less smoke comes out after the explosion. In this way the risk of pollution is less. However, care is taken regarding its maintenance. It is kept in such a place where there is neither extreme heat nor cold.
Wooden boxes are used to keep the Superpower-90 explosives. Cracks are made so that air can reach these boxes. There are many private companies across the country that work to make it. It is sold in the market with packing of 25 kg. It has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of its manufacturing.
