Amidst the increasing cases of Corona, China is reaping its own harvest. The situation there is going from bad to worse. Every day more than 40 thousand new cases of corona are coming to the fore. At one time, the situation which was in many countries around the world in the first and second wave due to Corona being at its peak, is almost the same situation in China at present. Xi Jinping’s government is imprisoning people in their homes to stop the infection chain, but huge crowds are gathering on the streets in the name of protests.
The Chinese government has put a lockdown in many cities adopting the Zero Covid policy. The rules are so strict that difficulties have arisen for the people. Despite this, the Chinese government is proving to be a failure in controlling Covid. In such a situation, people are protesting on the streets. People have accepted that the Jinping government has failed to handle the situation. That’s why they want to buy ventilators and oxygen machines and keep them in their homes.
The question is, is the epidemic only the reason for the situation getting worse and worse in China? Or is the zero covid policy of the Chinese government responsible? The question is, what kind of policy is this of China, which is not ending since two years, nor has the situation been brought under control!
China’s cumin covid policy is itching in leprosy
Dr. Niranjan Kumar, a teacher at IIMT and a researcher on foreign policies, says that people in China are suffering due to Corona, but the government’s zero-covid policy is taking a toll on people’s lives. Citing a BBC report, he says that at least 10 people died in a fire in a building block in Xinjiang last week. The rules of the lockdown were so strict that those who wanted to escape from the burning building were stopped by the security personnel. The reason behind 10 deaths was the ban somewhere.
This is an example. Many such incidents are happening everyday. People have to be two-four for the items of daily need. There are restrictions that are not ending for two years. People’s patience has paid off. The people of China are now fed up with the restrictions.
People lost their loved ones due to Corona. Lost my business, lost my job. People have lost their life of peace. This is the reason why in a country where people could not speak against Jinping, they are now protesting openly.
How strict is the policy of the Chinese government
When the wave of corona came in the world, China formulated and started implementing the policies of lockdown with the name ‘Dynamic Zero-Covid’. Its success was linked to Chinese President Jinping and now its failure is also being linked to his name.
Last month, Jinping said in a meeting that the Zero Covid policy is a people’s fight against the coronavirus. But the fight of the people is now visible only against the government.
According to the government’s policy, there is a rule to be kept in the isolation center for 15 days and home isolation for three days if the infection of Kovid is found. However, now this limit has been reduced a bit. Now being kept in isolation for eight days only.
people are fed up
According to the report of Deutsche Welle, the lives of the people have been badly affected due to the policies of the government. They have lost their livelihood. Many times people were kept locked up in a factory or some compound for many days because a case of Kovid was found there.
Last month, Beijing’s Disney Park was closed for this reason and thousands of people were trapped in it. Then such pictures also came in which people were seen trying to escape from there by jumping over the walls.
The rules are very strict to prevent community transmission. According to a BBC report, a crew member of a train had come in contact with an infected person in the past, after which all the people present in the train were tested for Covid and were quarantined.
The rules regarding traveling abroad are equally strict. For the first time after March 2022, China is giving entry to foreign travelers. However, for this, a corona test within 48 hours is necessary. Despite this, getting entry permission is not that easy.
People are troubled by many such rules. Experts say that the disease can be controlled by treatment with restrictions. But when there is a crisis on the bread of the people, then what are its solutions.
